Our School Peon Essay for kids in 100 words

Ram Kumar is our school peon. He is tall and slim. He is not much educated still he is wise. He always wears his grey uniform. Ram Kumar is always smiling and cheerful. He is obedient. He can always be seen sitting on the stool outside the Principal’s office. He keeps the Principal’s office neat and clean. He is ready to help anytime. He carries out the orders of the Principal. He is busy all the time. He is though poor yet honest and hardworking. We all respect him.

Essay on Our School Peon

Our school peon is a middle-aged man. His name is Pawan Kumar. He must be between forty and fifty.

He is a thin, dark-complexioned person. He is rather thin. He wears a very simple dress, often kurta-pajama. He wears a round turban. Mostly he wears deep dark coloured clothes. I think it is because he cannot afford to wash his clothes daily. If he wears white clothes, they quickly look dirty, as his work involves a lot of hard labour and dirt.

He is a very poor man and cannot afford even to have a bicycle. So, the school has given him a bicycle to enable him to do his duties well.

He opens the school rooms and offices in the morning and locks them in the evening. He dusts the chairs, tables, and desk. He rings the bell on time. He also carries messages and notices to the classrooms. Sometimes, he has to go to the town for various official duties. He also brings tea and eatables for the teachers from the canteen.

Sometimes, his duty is to sit outside the Principal’s room. Then, sometimes, his duty is to sit in the staff room. On certain days, his duty shifts to the cycle shed. In fact, wherever, he is appointed, he does his duty honestly and diligently.

Mr. Pawan Kumar is only a matriculate. Had he been a graduate, he would have probably been appointed at least a clerk in the office. Now, he will have to remain a peon all his life. But he does not grudge others’ success. Nor does he curse his own fate. He is a superstitious man who believes in his fate and destiny.

Although he is poor, he is honest. I can say that at least for his honesty if nothing else, he is the person I like most. May he live long!
