In this article

It’s the night before a big paper is due. For whatever reason, you find yourself needing to write an entire research paper in a very short amount of time. While procrastination isn’t ideal, extenuating circumstances may have caused your timeline to get pushed back. So, here you are, looking for how to write a 10-page paper or how to write a 20-page paper in one night.

It goes without saying the best way to write a paper is to give yourself enough time to outline, draft, and edit. Yet, it’s still possible to write in less time. Take heed of these best tips and tricks to organize your thoughts and get your thesis on paper as fast as possible.

How to prepare before you write, 1. create a schedule to maximize your time.

You’ve likely already spent time panicking. Once you calm yourself of the anxiety of having to finish a 10- or 20-page paper in one night, organize your plan of attack. First, you should designate an area free of distractions so that you can focus. Aside from a few breaks and snacks, it’s best to set up a comfortable place to write. Give yourself some time to outline and find/cite research . Once you know how you’re going to approach the subject, then you can start drafting.

2. Determine your Main Topic

If you’ve been given a prompt, then your topic is clear. However, sometimes you have the freedom to choose what your research will be about. In this case, it’s smartest to choose a topic that you are already knowledgeable about. That way, you will save yourself key time that would have otherwise been spent on research. If you don’t feel strongly about any particular topic, then at least try to pick one that has a lot of information available.

3. Perform Research

Start looking up sources to cite that support your thesis, or main argument. As you research, be sure to take notes. One of the best ways to do this is to use a word processor like Google Docs or Microsoft Word to copy and paste URLs. For each source, it would be best to copy/paste one main sentence that covers its point.

Then, you can write brief notes in your own words that summarize what you have read from that source. While you are performing research, you can start to put together an outline, or the flow of how you will present your ideas broken down by topic and argument.

4. Outline 3-5 subtopics

Once you’ve chosen your topic, then try to pull 3-5 subtopics from it. Each sub-topic should be juicy enough to be able to write a lot about it. The subtopics are your supporting paragraphs which fill the body of the research paper. They should basically be mini essays within themselves.

Writing in One Night

Writing a long research paper in one night isn’t ideal, but it is doable. Some of the best ways to get it done is to follow these 5 tips:

1. Plan and Outline

Take those few extra moments to plan and outline your paper. While it may feel like a waste of valuable time, it is going to help you stay on track. When you have an outline and you get to the middle of your paper, you won’t feel lost as to how to continue. An outline will be useful to you like a map is on a journey.

2. Use Specialized Search

Take advantage of search tools that are designed for scholars. For example, a few of these include: Google Scholar and Elsevier .

3. Leverage Tools

There are citation management tools that will help you find sources for your topic. Mendeley is just one of them. You can type parts of your paper into the tool and find quotes of value. Be sure to cite everything you use to avoid plagiarism .

4. Proofread and Edit

Once you complete writing 10 to 20 pages, you may feel like throwing in the towel and going to sleep for a few hours. However, it is crucial to power through and proofread your paper. If you have anyone available who can read your paper over, that would be best because it’s hard to catch mistakes when you’ve been looking at the same thing for so long. But, if no one is available, try to read your paper back to yourself out loud. This way, you may be able to catch typos better.

5. Check Formatting

Every research paper needs to adhere to a particular format guideline. Whether it’s APA, MLA, or another standard formatting practice, be sure to double check that your layout adheres to the guidelines.

When to start writing.

If you have yet to find yourself trying to write a paper at the last minute and all the notes above are scaring you out of procrastination, then that’s a good start! Perhaps you were recently assigned a research paper. In this case, the best way to tackle the project is to do the following:

Start Early

Get started right away. Even if it means just performing early research or writing an outline, starting early is going to save you from having to write a paper in one night down the line. When you start early, you benefit greatly because you can: leverage peers for ideas, take the necessary time to edit and rewrite, and you lower your risk of picking a topic with too little information and having to change topics at the last minute.

Writing in Stages

Starting early also affords you the opportunity to write in stages. You can think of writing as a cycle when you write in stages. First, you can create your outline. Then, you can write the introduction, edit it, and rewrite anything you may need to before moving on to the next piece (or the first body paragraph, in this case).

Use a Timeline

Create a timeline for your writing in stages. If you start four weeks in advance, for example, you have time to do all of the following:

  • Fully understand the assignment and ask any questions
  • Start to read and document sources
  • Create notecards and cite books for sources
  • Write a summary of what you’ve discovered so far that will be used in some of your paper
  • Create 3-5 subtopics and outline points you want to explore
  • Look for more sources on your subtopics
  • Start writing summaries on each subtopic
  • Write some analysis of your findings
  • Start to piece together the research paper based on your notes and outline (almost like completing a puzzle)
  • Edit and proofread / ask for feedback

The Writing Process

The actual writing process is a little different for everyone, but this is a general overview for how to write a 20-page paper, or one that is shorter.

  • Start with a Thesis: Your thesis is one sentence that clearly and concisely explains what you are going to prove with research.
  • Include a Menu Sentence: At the end of your introduction, you will briefly outline your subtopics in what is often referred to as a “menu sentence.” This allows the reader to understand what they can expect to learn about as they continue to read your paper.
  • Create a Detailed Introduction: Your introduction should be detailed enough so that someone with little to no knowledge about your subject matter can understand what the paper is about.
  • Keep References: Be sure to write your references as you go along so that you basically can create your bibliography in the process of writing. Again, this is where a tool like Mendeley may be useful.
  • Write First: Write first and edit later. You want to get all your ideas down on the page before you start judging or editing the writing.
  • Save Often: Create the draft on a cloud platform that is automatically saved (i.e. Google Docs in case your computer crashes) or email the work to yourself as you go.

Sources to Consider Using

When writing your research paper and finding sources, it’s best to use a mix of sources. This may include:

  • Internet: The Internet is filled with limitless possibilities. When you use the Internet, it’s best to find credible and trustworthy sources to avoid using fake news as a source. That’s why tools like Google Scholar can be so helpful.
  • Textbooks: It’s more likely than not that you’ll be able to use your class textbook as a source for the research you are conducting.
  • Books: Additionally, other books outside of those you read within your class will prove useful in any research paper.

Final Steps: Editing and Formatting

Once you’ve written all your ideas on the page, it’s time to edit. It cannot be stressed enough that editing is pivotal before submission. This is especially true if you’ve been writing under immense pressure.

Writing a 10- or 20-page research paper in one night is not easy, so there are bound to be mistakes and typos. The best way to catch these mistakes is to follow these tips:

  • Take a break before you edit so you can come back to the page with somewhat fresh eyes and a clearer head
  • Read it out loud to edit and catch mistakes because sometimes your brain will override typos or missing words to make sense of what it is reading
  • If possible, ask someone else to look it over
  • Consider using footnotes or block quotes
  • Format according to how your university asks – MLA or APA, etc.

The Bottom Line

Life throws curveballs your way without warning. Whether you are holding yourself accountable for procrastinating or something out of your control came up, you may find yourself needing to write a big research paper in one night. It’s not the best-case scenario, but with the right tools and tricks up your sleeve, you can surely get it done!

How to Write a 10-Page Paper in One Night.

Short of time so much so that you’re tempted to use space-fillers in your ten-page paper? You needn’t do that! Writing a 10-page paper in one night may seem like an arduous task, but it is doable. The best way to tackle a 10-page paper is to do it without procrastinating. However, sometimes many things happen, and we don’t end up following up on things as we planned. If you’ve already delayed and the deadline for submission of your 10-page research paper is tomorrow, or if you just want to get over with that ten-page paper and spend your time on other things, I’m glad to tell you that it’s possible! It all boils down to playing your cards well, which we will show you how.

Sometimes, it is difficult to resist the temptation of just jumping to writing without a structure. But on such a night like this, you need a well-laid out structure because of the number of hours’ worth of corrections it can save you. This plan should contain the topic of the 10-page paper, how you choose to introduce the topic, the thesis statement for your research paper, etc. Once this is complete, all you need to do is to wear more flesh on each point and viola! you have your 10-page research paper right in front of you!

After you’ve written down appropriate plans, you need to dedicate a particular amount of time to each section. This time allocation will help you control the amount of time you will take to write the entire paper. For example, you could dedicate 1 hour to collecting and collating sources, 2 hours to reading these sources, 3 hours for the writing, 1 hour for the proofreading, etc. Allocate this time as you deem fit, as long as you’ll still be able to make it before the sun rises.

Knowing the right tools to carry out research goes a long way in saving lots and lots of time. And immediately organize these sources to what chapter or area they come to play. Elsevier, Google Scholar, etc., are excellent places to start. So how many sources for a 10-page paper? On average, about 5-7 sources are enough for a ten-page research paper. The bibliography section in your textbook could be of great help. It is advisable not to use Wikipedia as it is not a primary source of information and can be edited by almost anybody.

Citation/reference management tools are huge time savers. Believe me, you don’t want to be the one trying to manually keep a tab of your sources and reference at a time like this. Tools such as Endnote and Mendeley are relevant and reliable citation managers. Even though pressure may be high on you, don’t be tempted to plagiarize.

Strict formatting rules (e.g., APA, Harvard, MLA, etc.) apply to every academic paper. Therefore, you have to format your paper appropriately according to your school guidelines.

It is common to make some errors and huge oversights while working under pressure. Take time off when you are done and come back after a while to proofread it. Chances are, some things will not look right! Avoid the use of passive voice, slang, colloquial language, etc.

So here we are! How to write a ten-page paper in one day or night! Despite the limited time, you may have just written your best paper ever!

10-Page Research Paper Outline

Even when you’re short of time, always remember that there is a prescribed outline when writing a 10-page paper. This outline may vary as decided by your school, discipline, or type of essay. Generally, a 10-page paper outline goes as follows:

The introduction is meant to get readers interested in your work. Start with a striking quoted statement, statistics, etc., and serve them the basics of your work in this part. Divide the introduction into two paragraphs, the first posing the research question (thesis statement) and the second explaining how your paper will answer the question. End this paragraph with a sentence that summarizes the argument of the essay.

The body is the major part of your essay as it contains a chunk of the information. The body can be divided into three sections, each with a subheading. Each of these sections can contain six paragraphs. Each body paragraph should begin with a topic sentence, and emphasize only an idea following this pattern: the idea, the evidence supporting it, a rebuttal possible counter-arguments, stating how the point affects the overall topic, and then connecting the paragraph with the point in the next paragraph. You can also divide body paragraphs into chapters, following the same pattern.

This conclusion part summarizes your findings in two paragraphs. The first, which reiterates your thesis, and the second, which tells why your arguments matter. Keep it short and straight to the point.

How Many Words Is A 10-page Paper?

So now that you know how to write a ten-page paper, how many words is a ten-page paper? A 10-page paper word count is only 2,500 words. A 10-page research paper is a common assignment in higher education that requires students to explore a specific topic in depth. This type of paper typically includes a title page, an abstract, an introduction, several body sections, and a references page. Understanding the structure and components of a 10-page research paper is essential for effectively communicating your findings and arguments.

Key Components of a 10-Page Research Paper:

  • Title Page: This page includes the title of your paper, your name, the course name, and the date.
  • Abstract: A brief summary of your research question, methodology, findings, and conclusions, usually about 150-250 words.
  • Introduction: This section introduces the topic, presents the research question, and outlines the paper's purpose.
  • Body: The main content of the paper, divided into several sections that include literature review, methodology, analysis, and discussion.
  • Conclusion: A summary of the findings and their implications, along with suggestions for future research.
  • References: A comprehensive list of all sources cited throughout the paper, formatted according to a specific citation style.

When writing a 10-page research paper, it is crucial to maintain a clear and coherent argument throughout the document. Each section should logically flow into the next, with transitions that guide the reader through your thought process. Additionally, it is important to adhere to the required formatting guidelines, such as font size, margins, and citation style, which can vary depending on the academic discipline or institution.

Research is the backbone of any academic paper. It is vital to gather credible and relevant sources that support your thesis and arguments. Utilizing academic journals, books, and reputable online resources will enhance the quality of your paper. Remember to take detailed notes and organize your findings to streamline the writing process. By understanding these basics, you can effectively tackle the challenges of composing a 10-page research paper and contribute meaningful insights to your field of study.

Step-by-Step Guide to Structuring Your Research Paper

Structuring your research paper effectively is crucial for presenting your findings clearly and logically. A well-organized paper not only helps readers understand your argument but also enhances your credibility as a researcher. Here’s a detailed guide to help you structure your research paper in a coherent manner.

Your research paper should begin with a title page that includes the title of your paper, your name, your institution, and the date of submission. The title should be concise yet descriptive enough to convey the essence of your research.

The abstract is a brief summary of your research paper, typically ranging from 150 to 250 words. It should encapsulate the research question, methodology, key findings, and conclusions. A well-written abstract allows readers to quickly grasp the main points of your paper.

In the introduction, you will present the background information necessary for understanding your research topic. Clearly state your research question or hypothesis, and explain the significance of your study. This section should engage the reader and provide a roadmap for what to expect in the following sections.

The literature review provides context for your research by summarizing previous studies relevant to your topic. It should critically analyze existing research and identify gaps that your study aims to fill. This section helps to justify your research and positions it within the broader academic discourse.

In the methodology section, describe the research design, methods, and procedures used to collect data. Be specific about the tools and techniques employed, as well as any ethical considerations. This transparency allows other researchers to replicate your study if desired.

Present your findings in a clear and concise manner, using tables, graphs, or charts as necessary to illustrate your data. Avoid interpretation in this section; simply report what you found through your research.

The discussion section is where you interpret your results and explain their implications. Compare your findings with existing literature, discuss any limitations of your study, and suggest areas for future research. This section should highlight the significance of your work and how it contributes to the field.

Summarize the main points of your research and restate its importance. This section should reinforce your research question and provide a final perspective on your findings.

Include a comprehensive list of all the sources cited in your paper, formatted according to the required citation style (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago). This section demonstrates the breadth of your research and gives credit to the original authors.

By following this structured approach, you can ensure that your research paper is organized logically and effectively communicates your findings to your audience. You may also be interested in:   How to Cite a Paragraph from an Article: A Step-by-Step Guide

When embarking on the journey of writing a comprehensive 10-page paper, employing effective research techniques is crucial for gathering quality information and ensuring a well-rounded argument. One of the first steps in this process is to define your research question clearly. A focused research question not only guides your investigation but also helps you identify relevant sources. Use keywords and phrases from your question to search for academic articles, books, and other scholarly materials that address your topic.

Another effective technique is to utilize various research databases and online libraries. Websites like Google Scholar, JSTOR, and your institution's library resources provide access to a wealth of peer-reviewed articles and publications. When searching, employ advanced search features to filter results by date, publication type, and subject area. This approach will help you find the most relevant and credible sources for your paper. Additionally, keeping track of your sources with a citation management tool like Zotero or EndNote can streamline the process of creating your bibliography.

Note-taking is another vital component of effective research. As you gather information, summarize key points, and jot down important quotes, ensuring that you also record the source of each piece of information. This practice not only aids in retaining knowledge but also makes it easier to organize your findings when drafting your paper. Consider using digital tools or traditional methods like index cards to categorize notes by theme or argument, which will be invaluable when structuring your paper.

Lastly, don't overlook the importance of evaluating your sources critically. Assess the credibility, relevance, and bias of each source to ensure that your paper is built on a solid foundation. Look for peer-reviewed journals, reputable publishers, and expert authors in the field. By incorporating these effective research techniques, you will be well-equipped to develop a comprehensive 10-page paper that is both informative and persuasive. Writing and editing a research paper can often feel overwhelming, but with the right strategies, you can streamline the process and enhance the quality of your work. One effective approach is to create a detailed outline before you begin writing. This outline should include your main arguments, supporting evidence, and the structure of your paper. By organizing your thoughts in advance, you can save time during the writing phase and ensure that your paper flows logically from one section to the next.

Set specific goals and deadlines for each stage of the writing process. Break your research paper into manageable tasks, such as drafting each section, revising your arguments, and formatting your references. Assign realistic deadlines to these tasks to maintain momentum and avoid last-minute stress. For instance, you might aim to complete the introduction and literature review by the end of the week, allowing ample time for revisions and editing later on.

When it comes to editing your paper, consider using a systematic approach. Start by reviewing your content for clarity and coherence. Ask yourself if each paragraph supports your thesis and if the transitions between ideas are smooth. After addressing content-related issues, focus on grammar, punctuation, and style. Tools like grammar checkers can be helpful, but don't rely solely on them; a thorough manual review is essential to catch nuanced errors.

Lastly, seek feedback from peers or mentors. Sharing your work with others can provide valuable insights that you might have overlooked. Be open to constructive criticism and use it to refine your arguments and improve your writing. Incorporating feedback not only enhances the quality of your paper but also builds your skills as a researcher and writer.

When embarking on the journey of writing a 10-page research paper, many students fall into common traps that can hinder their progress and affect the overall quality of their work. One prevalent mistake is procrastination , which can lead to rushed research and writing. It's essential to create a timeline that breaks the project into manageable tasks, ensuring ample time for research, writing, and revisions. Without proper time management, students often submit papers that lack depth and coherence.

Another frequent error is neglecting to formulate a clear thesis statement. A strong thesis serves as the foundation of your paper, guiding your arguments and providing a clear direction. Failing to establish a focused thesis can result in a disorganized paper that strays off-topic. To avoid this, take the time to refine your thesis before diving into the research process, ensuring that it encapsulates the main argument you wish to present.

In addition, many students overlook the importance of thorough research. Relying on a limited number of sources or using outdated materials can weaken your paper's credibility. Aim to utilize a diverse array of sources, including academic journals, books, and reputable websites. As you gather information, keep track of your sources to facilitate proper citation and avoid plagiarism. This approach not only enriches your paper but also demonstrates your engagement with the topic.

Lastly, inadequate proofreading is a mistake that can detract from the professionalism of your work. After completing your draft, set it aside for a day or two before revising it with fresh eyes. Look for grammatical errors, awkward phrasing, and inconsistencies in your argument. Consider utilizing tools such as grammar checkers or seeking feedback from peers to ensure your paper is polished and ready for submission. By avoiding these common pitfalls, you can enhance the quality of your 10-page research paper and improve your academic performance.

How to Write a 10-Page Essay if You Have No Time Left: Top Tips

Writing a 10-page essay may be difficult, even if you have a month or so for a preparation. But let’s face it: not all students start writing a paper when they actually get the assignment from the professor. Moreover, life may be unpredictable, so sometimes the students may face the necessity to write a 10-page research paper or essay in a day or even less. Is it possible? Yes. Our experts designed a few tips to guide you on writing a 10-page paper.

1. Forget about Complicated Topic

Usually, an interesting topic would add you some points from the professor, showing that you are interested in the subject and willing to research more. However, when limited by the approaching due date, you won’t have time to do in-depth research. Therefore, try to stick to the well-known topic that you can find plenty of information for.

2. Write a Plan

Even if you don’t have time at all, the proper outline will help you to gather your thoughts. Here is how you can do it: divide your main thesis into several subsections (points you are going to discuss or arguments you are going to use). Even having a thesis statement, subsection and conclusion will give you the correct direction while writing.

3. Don’t Spend Too Much Time on One Statement

You can write half of the 10-page essay in a few hours and then get stuck on an hour or so while thinking about your concluding statement. Don’t force yourself and don’t waste your precious time: go further in your writing and return to the problematic parts once you are done with the rest of your paper.

4. Make Citations As You Write

Some students write a draft without proper referencing (as it’s a draft), trying to save some time. Indeed, adding in-text citations may be time-consuming (especially if you are writing with footnotes or endnotes); however, you will waste even more time, if you don’t cite your sources while writing. You will have to provide the proper references anyway; still, if you do that after you finish the whole paper, you will be more likely to forget the source of information you have used.

5. Stick to the Shorter Sources

Using a book may be pretty comfortable; however, you will spend much time searching for the necessary concepts there. Short studies, instead, may provide you with the same information written on several pages. Moreover, using studies instead of the books will increase the credibility of your 10-page research paper and, consequently, your mark for it.

6. Scan the Sources

Don’t read all the sources you have found carefully. First, check whether there is something you can use from the source as nearly half of your literature will have similar conclusions or will not add any value to your paper. If you are sure that you are going to use the particular source, pay attention to the most important things: the main idea of the paper, the essential arguments, the methodology of the research, the weaknesses, and the conclusion. Knowing what exactly you are looking for will save you time on reading.

Is it possible to write an excellent 10-page essay in a few hours? Not really: if you don’t have enough experience, you will write a paper of such length; however, it won’t be your best work. So if you don’t have much time left, consider hiring an expert, who will get your paper done in a few hours while maintaining the top level of the work.

How To Write A Research Paper By Breaking It Into Smaller Parts?

How To Write A Research Paper By Breaking It Into Smaller Parts?

One of the most remarkable techniques to achieve bigger goals is to break your challenges into smaller parts. The small things make more significant parts and make the difference. So when someone asks you how to write a 10-page research paper? Always tell them to make it out of smaller pieces. But how to do that? Let’s go and take a peek at it.

2 Paragraphs, Or 1 Page Of Introduction

An introduction is a crucial aspect whether you’re looking for a 20-page research paper or how to write a 10-page research paper. In the Introduction, you will summarize everything you’re going to write ahead. For a 10-page research paper, the ideal introduction size would be a single page. A single page typically consists of two paragraphs. Being comprehensive is the key, and you want to remain right on the topic. You won’t have much space like a thesis or dissertation. Try to be brief and concise and cover everything you can within a single page, between two to three paragraphs.

18 Paragraphs, Or 6 Pages Of The Body (Further Divided Into Three Parts)

After you’re done with the Introduction, the next step is writing the main body of your research paper. But how to write a 10-page research paper body? Well, that’s easy. Remember that you have six pages to spare for this task. You will have to suffice within this given guideline. We will break this into three further steps.

Argument Position / Acknowledgement Of The Existence Of The Problem / Defining The Case

The first two pages of the body acknowledge your stance on the issue or phenomenon you will talk about. You have to understand your position and the problem’s existence in the observations and experiences. You will utilize most of the data that you collected in this part. What are your arguments, and what makes them essential? Are there any researches that have come before? 6 Paragraphs of this lot, more or less two pages, would be a great length.

Roots / Causes Of The Problem / Explaining The Case

What is it that motivated you to choose this problem? Why this problem exists, or what caused the phenomenon in our discourse? In this part, you can include surveys and interviews with your audience and record your observations related to root causes. This is the most critical part of your research as it is based on public opinion. In a democratic state, there is nothing more important than public opinion.

Solutions To The Problem / Results Of The Case

Now we know the problem exists, and we also see the root causes of the problem. The final step in the body of your ten pages research paper is to define a solution. We must remember that the primary purpose of research writing is more than just finding a problem and extending it. A good research paper will also propose a solution and many answers to the existing questions. The final part of your body tells the reader how we can solve this problem, what measures we need to take, and what the solution will lead to.

2 Paragraphs, Or One Page Of Concluding The Case

The final step when answering the day’s question, “how to write a 10-page research paper?” would be to conclude the paper. We bet you already knew that. Just summarize everything you have written before in the final two or three paragraphs, in more or less 1-2 pages, and your paper is complete.

Understanding The Assignment

You got the assignment. Congratulations! Because that means you’re finally finishing your year and going a step further. There is no time to hurry that much. Sit back and breathe. Keep calm and look at the given assignment. Consult a couple of friends. Even ask a couple of questions to your supervisors. Once your confidence is built, it will take no time to get a hold of the assignment.

Going Through A Feasibility Check

Once you have understood the assignment, it is best practice to check if it is a feasible topic you will discuss in your research. Has there been enough data available that you can use? If there is a lack of data and previously published research on your topic, you will not be able to finish the study. If there is too much redundancy, you might find a lack of interest from your institute.

Choosing A Topic

Choosing a research paper topic is a critical decision. It can be frustrating when you can’t come up with anything and you end up with a blank page. But there is a way to get over writer’s block and choose the topic that will get you thinking.

You can Google “ research paper topics ,” and you will find a lot of options. The first thing you need to do is to decide what interests you. If you are facing writer’s block, choosing the topic that triggers your thought process is essential. If you are interested in education, you might want to select a topic about education reform. If you are interested in politics, you might want to choose a case about the 2016 presidential election.

By following these steps, you can get over writer’s block and choose a topic that will get you thinking.

Making Initial Research

Once you have chosen the topic, it is time to research it. You don’t have to do much research, but you need a general idea of your writing. If you are writing about the 2016 presidential election, you might want to read articles about the candidates and the campaign. Looking into some  political science research topics  will help too. If you are writing about education reform, you might want to read articles about education systems worldwide.

Gathering Sources

When writing your research paper, it is important to use credible sources. Credible sources are those that you can trust to provide accurate information. You can find credible sources by doing your research or using the resources provided in this guide.

When you are doing your research, be sure to use reliable sources. A reliable source is one that you can trust to provide accurate information. You can charge a reliable source if you have read and understood the article or spoken to someone who has read and understood the article.

Ask Questions Related To Your Topic, Talk To Your Sources

Collecting data for your research paper can be daunting, but by taking a walk around and asking questions to people, you can get a lot of valuable information. Even a non-specialist could provide you with a lot of data and insights.

One of the best ways to collect data is to ask people their opinions on some issues. You can do this through surveys, interviews, or even talking to community members. This information can be used to help you understand your audience, as well as the issues that are important to them.

Interviewing The Participants / Volunteers

Once you have determined your sources, you will need to prepare a list of questions to ask them. This list should be tailored to the individual basis and reflect the information you have determined about them.

When interviewing your sources, it is essential to be respectful and attentive to their time. It would be best if you also were prepared to take notes during the interview and be prepared to ask follow-up questions.

By  interviewing your sources effectively , you will be able to provide a more in-depth and accurate account of the topic you are writing about.

Form A Stance

It is essential to have an understanding of your position. This means that you need to know the facts about the topic and be able to articulate your thoughts on the matter. When you can express your thoughts, you can defend your stance and be more likely to find accurate information.

Create An Outline

An outline is one of the essential tasks in writing research papers. It helps you stay organized and focused and makes the writing process more manageable.

There are a few different types of outline, and the one that’s most effective for you will depend on the kind of paper you’re writing and your specific writing style. However, some general tips will help you create an outline regardless of the type of outline you use.

One of the most important things to remember when  writing an outline  is to keep it concise. Don’t include too many details in your strategy, or you’ll quickly become bogged down in a sea of information. Instead, focus on having the main points of your paper and then expanding on them as you write.

Also, be sure to outline the main points of your paper before you start writing. This will help you stay on track and avoid getting sidetracked. Once you have a rough outline, you can begin filling in the details.

Start Writing

All the daunting tasks are almost finished. Let’s get to writing your research paper. You already know how to write a 10-page research paper. If you already know the answers and everything you need, let’s put them down on paper. Remember to take breaks to avoid burnout.

Cite Your Sources

“Always remember to cite your sources. Your sources are the people and institutes that provide you with data. Ignoring them would be severe injustice and will be considered an act of plagiarism.”

Plagiarism is a severe offense and can result in a loss of academic credibility and future opportunities. It is, therefore, vital to be aware of the guidelines for citing and to follow them correctly.

When citing a source, always include the following:

  • The author’s name.
  • The title of the article or book.
  • The page number(s) where the information can be found.

It is also essential to include the date of publication.

Be Your Critic (It’s fun!)

You’re almost finished. Let’s have a look at what you have written. It is always fun to be a critic. Trust me; it is the same when you’re your critic. Find if there are any mistakes and correct them for grammar and context.

Re-read, Enjoy Your Work, and Then Submit

Do you enjoy reading? Don’t we all? It is one of the few pleasures of this dark, wicket world. It is okay to read your works. You will not only enjoy reading your works but will also find yourself a little proud. It’s good to feel proud in a while. After you know it’s all okay and ready, go to the site of your institute, upload your document, and hit the submit button.

How to write a 10-page research paper? Answering this could be challenging. It is a challenge no more. You have everything you were looking for. Now write your essay and surprise the world with your excellence. If you still think it will be difficult to find time to write your research paper, that is totally understandable. A large research paper assignment can be scary and intimidating. As always, this large assignment becomes more manageable (and less scary) whenever you break it down into digestible bites.

Start Early

The first key to writing a good research paper is starting early. There are a few good reasons to get an early start:

  • The best sources for your topic might be taken by other students, or they might be located in a faraway library.
  • It will take time to read the sources and write those note cards.
  • You will find that every rewrite of your paper makes it better. Give yourself plenty of time to polish your paper.
  • If you wait until the last minute, you could find that there is no information available to support your topic or thesis. You might need to find a new topic.

Write in Stages

The timeline below should help you get to the number of pages you desire. The key to writing a long research paper is writing in stages: You will need to establish a general overview first and then identify and write about several subtopics.

The second key to writing a lengthy research paper is to think of the writing process as a cycle. You will alternate researching, writing, reordering, and revising.

You will need to revisit each subtopic to insert your own analysis and arrange the proper order of your paragraphs in the final stages. Be sure to cite all information that is not common knowledge. Consult a style guide to make sure you are always citing properly.

Use a Timeline

Develop your own timeline with the tool below. If possible start the process four weeks before the paper is due.

How to Write a 10-Page Paper: Helpful Tips & Tricks

How to Write a 10-Page Paper (1)

Writing a 10-page paper is not always easy. This task is even more challenging when a student has a limited time to complete it. Even learners that are excellent at managing time find this assignment challenging. Nevertheless, you can handle this assignment if you know the right approach.

Also, don’t get anxious and nervous when assigned this task. Instead, take your time to plan and then focus on following the instructions provided by the educator. This article explains various aspects and ways of completing this task even when you have a tight deadline.

What is a 10-Page Paper?

As the name suggests, this academic writing assignment is a paper comprising 10-pages. Like most academic paper writing assignments, this task can have writing prompts, instructions, and a guiding rubric among other materials. So, before you start writing this paper, take your time to understand the assignment.

Ideally, start writing this paper when you know what your educator wants you to do. Also, understand how the educator will grade you on it. If unsure about the requirements of your assignment, ask your educator. Your teacher will be glad to clarify the assignment details for you even before you select a topic for your paper. And this will help you remain on track throughout the writing process.

How to Write a 10-Page Paper

To write your 10-page paper more efficiently, start by organizing your writing process. Proper organization is key to the successful completion of this assignment. Therefore, take your time to decide how you will write this paper based on the instructions and deadline provided by the educator.

Here’s what you should focus on when organizing your writing process:

  • Topic selection
  • Creating your 10-page research paper outline
  • Finding sources and researching
  • Writing a thesis statement
  • Actual writing and formatting
  • Proofreading the paper

These are the most important steps in the process of writing this paper. Following them will enable you to complete this task more efficiently. However, the steps you follow when writing your paper may vary depending on your topic.

Selecting 10-Page Research Paper Topics

Students have many 10-page paper topics to consider when assigned this academic task. This step of the writing process requires careful identification of the issue to research or investigate and write about. Essentially, students should select topics they find interesting and worth exploring.

In some cases, educators provide a prompt that makes the topic clear. However, some teachers allow learners the freedom to select their research topics. If you have limited time to complete this assignment, pick a topic you’re knowledgeable about.

A topic you’re familiar with will be easier to research and write about. Otherwise, picking a complex topic will require you to spend more time researching. Additionally, this task will be more complex if you select a topic you do not feel strongly about. Therefore, choose a familiar topic for which you can easily find valuable information.

Here are sample topics you can choose for this paper:

  • Why employees need shorter working weeks
  • Why using animal for research experiment is unethical
  • Why learning institutions should make STEM subjects mandatory
  • Why homework needs to be abolished
  • Effects of terrorism on businesses
  • Importance of leadership education in high school
  • Effective ways to acquire college tuition fees
  • The internet future
  • How to reduce air pollution
  • Using creative marketing to increase sales

Creating a 10-Page Research Paper Outline

Like most academic papers, a 10-page research paper outline is the skeleton of the final write-up.  How you outline your paper should depend on the assignment requirements. If your educator asked you to present the outline first, follow the requirements, guidelines, and examples they may have provided. If the educator didn’t ask you to turn in your outline first, don’t skip this step because it’s very important to the efficient and successful completion of your assignment.

Drafting an outline is about structuring the paper. Therefore, avoid being too formulaic. Follow a simple 10-page research paper outline template to decide how you will present the main points to support your thesis. For instance, if the assignment requires you to introduce your topic and then explain your opinions to support your thesis, you will need at least three sections.

How Long Should an Outline Be for a 10-Page Paper?

The outline of this paper can be as long as 4, 5, or more parts. The length of the outline should depend on the ideas you want to advance and their depth. As such, there is no specific length for the outline of this paper.

When creating your outline, think about the ideas you want to communicate or explain in the paper. Additionally, consider a structure that will enable you to accomplish this in an organized and clear manner. An ideal 10-page research paper outline format can have these three main sections.

  • Introduction: This section introduces the topic to the readers. It also has a hook that catches the reader’s attention and makes them want to read on. You can also include your thesis statement towards the end of the introductory part of the paper.
  • Body: This is the main section of the research paper. It contains the main points and their supporting evidence. All points in this part of the paper should have a logical connection.
  • Conclusion: The conclusion is the final part of the paper. It should wrap up everything you discussed in the other sections of the paper. Summarize what you told the audience in the conclusion.

Find Adequate Sources to Write a 10-Page Paper in One Night

One of the most effective ways to complete this task faster is by finding sources first. Perhaps, the question in your mind now is, how many sources for a 10-page paper? Well, you should have at least ten information sources in your literature review. That way, you can prove to the educator that you took the time to find sources and read the information in them before writing your paper.

Writing a 10-page paper in one night will be easier if you make brief notes summarizing the content of your sources. Also, follow your outline to ensure that you have adequate information to write about. After finding sources and researching, come up with a thesis statement based on your topic and the information you’ve collected. Your thesis statement should be based on the direction you wish to take when writing your paper.

Note that it is also possible to write a 10-page paper in one night as long as you make up your mind to achieve this feat. The mind has a way of compelling the body to work. Let us show you how you can write a 10-page paper in 3 hours!

How to Write a Ten-Page Paper in 3 Hours

This means you can write a 10-page paper in one night. Once you’ve found sources, researched them, and summarized the information you want to present in your research paper, the writing process should be easy.

Start by free-styling based on your gathered information. Use the outline and thesis statement as your guidelines. Don’t think about grammar when writing the paper. Instead, focus on including all relevant information or your main points and their supporting evidence in your paper. You will edit your research paper later after writing.

Make sure that your research paper follows the outline. Ideally, include an introduction with a thesis statement, the body with main points and supporting ideas, and the conclusion that wraps up the entire message or argument.

Proofread and edit your paper once you’re done writing. Check for grammar, spelling, typos, and factual errors. You can take a break after writing and then come back to edit to easily catch all errors. However, if your goal is to finish your 10-page paper in one night, then you can do the review immediately and get it done.

How Many Words is a 10-Page Paper?

In most cases, this paper comprises 5,000 words. However, a 10-page paper word count can range from 4,500 to 5,000 words. The spacing of the sentences on a page also determines the length of a paper.

For instance, a 5,000-word research paper can have 10-pages if it’s single-spaced. When double spaced, the same paper can have 20 pages. Therefore, talk to your educator if unsure about the number of words to include in your research paper. The spacing specified by your educator should tell you how many words in a ten-page paper they expect you to write.

How Long Does It Take to Write a 10-Page Paper Double Spaced?

However, if the educator wants you to write a single-spaced paper, it will take around two hours. That’s because your research paper will have around 5,000 words. Nevertheless, start by organizing the task, finding adequate sources, and researching to make the task easier to complete.

How Long Does It Take to Write a 10-Page Paper with Assistance?

You can take less than an hour to write this paper with professional assistance. If you seek the assistance of a parent, guardian, friend, or online professionals, writing this paper can take even a shorter time. That’s because you can combine efforts or have experienced professionals do the hard work for you. For instance, online academic writers are specialists that know where and how to find sources. They are also familiar with the best data collection methods. And this enables them to easily find and analyze information for writing academic paper and page essay.

So, if you don’t know how to write a ten-page paper and you’re afraid of missing the set submission deadline, seek assistance. Talk to your parent, guardian, or friend about the assignment to see if they can help. Unfortunately, you might not be lucky to have such people ready to or capable of helping you. But this doesn’t mean you fail to beat the deadline or submit a poorly written research paper. Instead, use the internet to complete this assignment faster and with ease.

The internet has many sources that you can use to write your paper. You can also hire experts to write and edit the research paper and page essay for you in less than an hour.

How to Write a 10 Page Research Paper

how to write a 10 page research paper

Table of Contents

Research papers are a very involved process. A lot goes into creating one and bringing it up to standard. So how much worse is a 10 page research paper? This article goes into the whole process of writing a ten-page research paper, from start to finish.

It’s okay to feel apprehensive about taking on such a big responsibility. Ten pages is a lot of words – and it doesn’t include any title pages or reference pages!

Read on for lots of information on how to properly write a research paper. Just take things one step at a time.

Make Sure You Understand Everything

This is the first step. Make sure you understand absolutely everything about the paper. Look at the question, the formatting, any potential research you already have. People can’t offer  help with research papers  if they don’t know you need help. The start of the process is the best time to ask for help, as that way, you can start with a clean slate.

Understanding everything is the key to making sure that you have a good paper. Say that you misunderstood the question, and then wrote a full ten-page essay on that. It might be the best essay you have ever written, but it would still be marked down. Understanding things is hugely important.

If you are looking up how to write a 10-page research paper, then you will likely get advice to make a plan. A plan, or an outline, will let you put everything in one place before writing. People like making plans because it brings some order to the chaos that is writing a research paper. 10 pages is a lot of work — there’s a lot of research, a lot of quotations, and a lot of everything else that goes into writing. The beauty of a plan is that it can have whatever you want in it.

If you want to use your plan to record the quotations you will use, you can do that. If you want to use it to put down important research, you can do that. You will find a plan hugely helpful in the writing process.

Do your research

If you want to write a 10-page paper, then you are going to have to do your research. There is a strategy for doing proper research. When you are working on a ten-page paper, you will need to be very careful about keeping everything in order. Research can quickly get out of hand if you aren’t careful.

First of all, do general research. This is research that isn’t too in-depth but will give you an overview of the topic. Most teachers will give their students a number of questions to choose from. General research will help you choose which question you want to focus on.

Once you have done that, it is time to go deeper into your subject. Delve as deeply as you can into your chosen field, and you are guaranteed to find sources you can use to construct a good paper. Research is what makes a good paper.

Plan your Headings

A 10-page research paper is a very long document. You will need to break it up into smaller manageable chunks for your readers. One thing you should always remember about any research paper is that it has to make logical sense. You can’t just add paragraphs and sections into your paper wherever you want to – it has to make sense. A good paper flows from one point to the next. Remember that when you are writing the paper, you are constructing an argument. Doesn’t it make more sense to have a paper that gradually builds up, a point on point, until the final conclusion? Anybody reading a paper that is laid out like that will find themselves being convinced as each argument builds on the last one. That is what you want to accomplish in your own paper.

Write the Paper

Obviously, at some point, you do have to write the paper. The ability to write a ten-page paper is something that you need to cultivate, but don’t worry. Even if you haven’t written any of these papers before, just treat it like a short one! You could think of it as two five-page papers if that would make it easier.

Writing is a case of taking things one step at a time until you find yourself with a paper. Make sure that your writing is the best it can be because this is how you convince your readers of your arguments and your own stance. Writing is one of the most important steps in the paper writing process.

Do a Second Draft

When you are writing a 10-page research paper, always do a second draft. Handing in the first draft of your work shouldn’t even cross your mind. The first draft is generally going to look sloppy and unfinished. A second draft will let you collect your thoughts. You take the best of the first draft and the new thoughts that come from a second time going over the material. Then you combine them to create a better draft.

Your second draft will always be more polished than your first. Think of your first draft as a trial run of your paper. Many people call it a rough draft for that very reason. This is where you can play with your paper and try things out. If they work, then they stay in for the second draft. If they don’t work, then they get taken out. This way, you can work on your paper until it is absolutely perfect!

Edit, Edit, Edit

Anybody writing a research paper in college should know that editing is a vital part of the process. You would be amazed at how many small mistakes you can make when writing, even if you think you are paying attention. For best results, try and step away from your work for a while, or even get someone else to look at it.

There are normally two levels to editing. One level is when you look at the small things, like spelling and grammar. This is focused purely on making sure your writing looks grammatically correct. The next level is the one that focuses on formatting issues. Have you formatted everything correctly? Do you have any half-finished sentences? Take the time to do your editing properly.

How Long Does It Take to Write A 10-Page Paper?

There is no set time limit for paper writing. The ultimate deadline is when your paper is due. Up until then, you can take as long as you need to. If you are taking your time, you could do it comfortably in a week. Remember that ideally, you should take some time away from your work in between writing it and editing it. This allows your eyes and brain to rest and reset. Looking at your work with fresh eyes allows you to see things much more clearly. Small mistakes that otherwise would have flown under the radar can be found!

Is It Real to Write A 10 Page Research Paper in One Night?

The short answer is no. While some people would technically be capable of writing a 10 page research paper in one night, it isn’t a good idea. A research paper isn’t something that every teacher assigns. It is normally only given to students who are at a high level in their studies. Any student who is studying at that level will need to do a lot of work for their papers. One night isn’t enough time to properly do that work.

You should pace yourself when working on one of these. If you do too much, you might make stupid mistakes.

How Many Paragraphs Does A 10 Page Paper Have?

This question comes up from time to time, and the answer is this: it all depends. It depends on how your essay is formatted, whether it has single or double-spaced lines. It depends on how long you make your paragraphs!

Remember that every essay has an introduction and a conclusion (two paragraphs), and then a (usually) an odd number of body paragraphs, so if both the introduction and the conclusion are half a page long (remember that they aren’t as long as other paragraphs), that leaves nine pages. If each body paragraph is one page long, then you have nine paragraphs.
